Game 5 > Ducks dribble with Dolphins

Diva Ducks 3 - Dolphins 0

BaysU is a dominant club in Victoria-area soccer who play 'in-house' so this was the first opportunity for some of the LISA players to compete against the 'Diva Ducks'. Since the weather conditions called for rain it was refreshing to know that neither the Ducks nor the Dolphins would let a little water prevent them from playing!

Alynn showing why she is so tough to play against!!!!

Both teams 'came to play' and despite some unusual conditions (full sized nets, wider and longer field than usual in Super8) both teams put on a great display of skill! Despite having to face the taller and faster Diva Ducks the LISA Dophins showed that they could compete and won many of the 1v1 situations in the first half!

These two (LISAs-MK and BaysU#10) had many excellent 1v1s all game long! Turns out they know each other from EddieM's!!!

In the second half BaysU used their passing skills and excellent wingers to score three impressive goals!
(above) An excellent goal from the left foot of the Bays#6 left winger that just found the inside postDespite the loss the LISA girls knew that they had put on a great game and learned from the experience and hope for a re-match against BaysU in one of the March tournaments!!
The next scheduled exhibition game will be (around) Feb 26th vs Peninsula, between now and then we hope to have three field practices at Upper Colville with our coaching staff of DaveM and Gee -- we will also welcome a guest coach who will be working with us for the remainder of the season: MarioP coach of the LISA u12B team and known to many who stop by AllSports ;)

BaysU has a number of talented players who will hopefully come out to the Lisa u12G Selects (DDC) team next season!!!!

"Great Game....Great Game..."

Game4... Cheetahs swim with the Dolphins

1 - Cheetahs 4
The fourth game of the LISA development season saw the 'Dolphins' host the powerful JdF Cheetahs (aka: Team Bud) on the UVIC turf field. Coach Godwill started with a 25 minute skills practice focusing on passing and foot skills.
Once the game got under way the JdF team quickly took command with an excellent use of the field width and crisp passing. Parents quickly observed how the JdF team seemed to know where their teammates where on the field, balls where passed into open spaces and quickly found their way onto JdF feet that passed the ball to the awaiting goal mouth.
The JdF Cheetahs where able to capitalize on early chances and quickly took a 2-nil lead. The LISA u10G Dophins started off on the back-heal but over the course of the 1st half picked up their pace and improved their marking of JdF players. The half ended with JdF in front 3-nil. The second half started with a much more focused LISA team playing their positions and looking for their team mates. Lindsey, Zoe, Ally and Brianna where just a few of the players who made an impact in the second half. The LISA girls closed the gap with an early goal by Lindsey. Both teams had numerous chances during the remaining 20 minutes. LISA Goaltender Michaela made numerous excellent saves in the second half, however it was JdF that scored next to close out the game with a much deserved 4-1 victory.
Despite recording their second loss of the campaign the girls look forward to their next game to be held Jan 29th also at UVIC vs a u11 team from BaysU. Special thanks to Coach BudL of JdF and his team for providing excellent competition for the LISA u10G squad. The LISA record is now 1-1-2 with three more exhibitions till tournament play in March and April.
